Keg at the hanging bat. Pours clear golden amber, thin white head. Hop heavy resin aromas, pine too. Taste is bitter, sticky, boozy. Oily texture, bitter finish. Good, but not their best.

Keg and bottle. Hazy golden body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of pine, honey and orange. Flavour of pine needles, boozy tangerine, jelly sweets and a peppery, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily, almost chewy texture. Soft fizz. This brewery knows how to hop an IPA/DIPA.

(350ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours clear medium amber with a moderate bubbly white head that recedes to a small cap with lace. Aroma has a lot of light caramel malt and decent amount of hops, mango, pine, dried stone fruit, hint of alcohol. On the palate, light slightly bready caramel malt core is fairly prominent, apricot, bit herbal, vague tropical notes. More pine resin and bitterness comes from the middle into the finish, honeyish malt sweetness and a bit of grain showing up along with some fruit lingering. Bitterness is pretty average for a DIPA, medium bodied, moderate sharp carbonation, hint of alcohol heat. This seems to have too much malt character (without complexity) relative to hops for me, and the hops are probably faded too. Not bad, but not best of style either.

Drowning my sorrows, after yet another Bundesliga loss for BVB.

Gravity dispense at GBBF ’14, day 1, 12/08/14. Lightly hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pine coated, candied fruit peel, bitter tropicana, grapefruit, tangy orange, ripe citric peel. Taste comprises bitter grapefruit, pine, candied fruit peel, sweet licks, mango. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with hop bitterness. Decent, likely better on keg I’m sure, a touch sweet at times but dirnks well for 8%+

West Coast IPA with firm, yellowish white head and warm golden amber colour. Delightfully complex and powerful hops in the nose, some orange, pine resin, tomato, pepper, grass; sweet malty and fruity onset rapidly overpowered by a very long, agressive, spicy, oily, pine needle- and citrus-like hoppiness drying mouth and throat. I can’t get enough of this type of beers and this is one of the best I had so far.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2014. It pours orange with a small white head. The nose is orange chewits, candy, boozy, apricot, peachy, dried mango and five alive fruit juice. The taste is bitter, orange, apricot, chewits, peppery, grapefruit, sticky, booze, leather, some astringency, resin with a warming, citrussy finish. Medium+ body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich, fruity and boozy. Pretty punchy. Would have been better on keg though...
