From tap. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Dense malty and tarish. Dark roasted malty to smoked. Thick tarish and roasted. Liqourice and dense caramelish. Light tarish medium dry finish.

CBC. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, wood and port. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. Smooth. 040513

On tap at Local Option. Pours black with a silky dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong port note supported by dark fruits, licorice and strong bitter roasted malts. Flavor starts with strong port barrel, has a bit of booze but body is mainly bitter chocolate and roasted malts.

Draft. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, wood, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, and wood, leading to a dry roasted finish.

[5/4/13] Draught at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Black with a nice light brown head. Aroma with chocolate, roasted coffee beans, smoke and wood. Sweet and smoky flavor with chocolate, wood and a coffee-ish and smoky finish with some bitterness. Rather full-bodied.

Sample at CBC 2013, saturday. Black with a small tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee, toffee and notes of earth. Nice full body with a soft carbonation.

Sampled at CBC 2013. Opaque pitch black color, small to medium sized, lightly creamy, virtually non lacing, mostly diminishing light brown colored head. Aroma is moderately malty, roasted malts, slightly burnt malts, lightly dark chocolate, mildly coffee. Taste malts, roasted malts, slightly burnt malts, dark chocolate, some coffee, wood, liquor, light to moderately bitter. Full bodied, medium but perfectly suitable carbonation. Absolutely loved this!
