Black Magic Woman is a Stout.
Black Magic Woman is our interpretation of a unique stout with peat-smoked malt. This is a real “man’s beer”, with a lot of everything. It is brewed with roasted barley malts, birch-smoked malt, peat-smoked malt, caramel malts and ale malt. It is well-hopped in order to balance the hearty malt profile. Black Magic Woman is an excellent accompaniment to desserts, dark chocolate, strong cheeses. It is also allowed to drink it on its own, while relaxing in a good armchair watching a football match.

Schwarze Farbe, mittelgroße bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch holzig, Karamell, Kaffee, sehr hopfig. Geschmack sehr röstmalzig, rauchig, Karamell, kräftig hopfig.

500ml bottle. Black color with beige head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, coffee, caramel, some smoked notes and wood. Sweet and bitter taste. Medium to fill oily silky body with soft carbonation.

Pours black with a large tan head.Nose shows hefty peat along with some more woody smoke notes. A bit of chocolate and roast too.Similarly smoky flavours, lots more peat. A fair whack of roast and some booze and herbal hop bitterness.

Smooth malty beginning. Lots of sweetness, round with roasted woody hints. Nice malty body with hints of nuts without too much sweetness. Caramel, roasted sugar. A bit viscous. Malty-bitter, sweetish-viscous aftertaste, but not too sugary. Nice malty-intense round and smooth. Very nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Black with a big light brown head. Aroma of roast, coffee, a bit of licorice, a cocoa note. Roasty flavor with coffee, a bit of licorice, some bitter chocolate. Quite full-bodied.

Keg at CBC Clerko, 15/04/15. Pitch black with a decent tan covering retains well, good lacing ensues. Nose is bitter roast, chocolate, spice, charr, toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, light smoke, dark fruit rinds, toffee fudge, roast malt, molasses, earthy vibes. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation - overcooked in this department, semi drying close with a touch of warming booze but kept will in check for a double digit number.

Keg at Craft Clerko. It pours black with a small tan head. The nose is sweet, roasted malt, smoke, bitter-sweet, earth, cocoa, ash and tobacco. The taste is bitter roast, earth, ash, smoke, earth, drying, tobacco, light alcohol and charred wood with a very dry finish. Full body and average carbonation. Pretty, pretty dry finish.
