(Previously labeled Raspberry Lambic). Raspberries have a sweet tartness to them already, so they make a perfect pairing with sour ales. Our Raspberry fruited ale has a fresh berry aroma with a touch of floral and wine-like notes, followed by a rich raspberry flavor. Reddish in hue with a pink foam appear upon pouring, with zesty amounts of carbonation. Finish is dry, with mouth-watering tanginess and raspberry flavor.

(Old description). In the spring of 2006, I brewed 300 gallons of top-fermented beer using wild yeast to create a Belgian-style Lambic. We conditioned the beer in oak casks and then initiated a secondary fermentation in the casks using whole fruit from Huber’s Orchard in Starlight, Indiana. You should experience a tart, almost sour taste balanced by the aromatic and richly flavorful addition of whole raspberries - perfect to share with friends, and a platter of good cheese and fresh fruit. - Caleb Staton, Head Brewer

Lots of raspberry--pretty rich initial dose of fruit. Lots of lime. Pours a rich ruby colour with pink head. Tart finish. A little better than the peach. Tap at Upland in Bloomington.

Sample at GABF 10/05/2019, thanks to kathryneels for assistance with note-taking. Clear bright pinkish-red color with a medium thin off-white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Strings of lace. Aroma of raspberry, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of tart raspberry, funky yeast, wheat and a bit of vinegar. The finish is tart with a raspberry aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

#ddbsmallbatchep1 crap ton of raspberry, tart, acid reflux attack but delish. I want to drink more but it burns. Maybe unrelated to the beer. Or it's carby as too. Whatever. It's amazing amount of raspberry tartness AND fruitiness.

Bottle. Pours clear candi apple, small white pink head, some lacing. Aroma is raspberry, sulphur, leaves. Flavor is light plus tart, very light funk, raspberries and sulphur. Medium body, high carbonation. Sulphuric, which is not a feature I am looking for in my beer.
