Double Rice India Pale Ale. This gold colored West Coast style Double India Pale Ale has an intense hop nose, with aromas mainly of citrus. The high hop character dominates this IPA’s flavor profile. Made with American long grain rice, it is quite difficult to make but the rice contributes to this beer’s crisp aftertaste.

On tap at CBC, pours a clear yellow with a medium white head. Aroma of citrusy, piney hops, a little rice, and biscuity malts. Flavour is very dry and muted, with bitter notes of pine, biscuity malts, and a very astringent hoppiness. Very dry and bitter. Not sure what the rice is supposed to be doing, but this is pretty bland. Decent, but nothing special.

Draught at CBC ?13. Clear golden liquid with big off-white head. Aroma of lemon peel, citrus, biscuit, tropical fruit and some light yeast. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with notes of tropical fruit, citrus and biscuit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Quite nice. Re-rating 14-02-14. Up both aroma, taste and overall.

Draft at Mikkeller and Friends. Pours clear orange golden with an off white head. Aroma has a slightly sickly cheesy hop character, also very fruity hops, caramel malt, alcohol, dough, almost slightly vinous quality. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Good, though I have to say Im leaning more towards the Aldebaran for personal preference. Pours pale yellow with some haze. Smells of citrus with booze and light malt in aroma. Medium consistency. Finishes bitter but not overwhelming. Tap at brewpub.
