[2/17/15] Draught at Firestone Walker in Paso Robles. Dark brown to black with a tan head. Aroma of roast, chocolate, oatmeal and a bit of coffee. Roasty flavor with chocolate, coffee, some oatmeal and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Pretty nice.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with paperthin tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is bready malt and roast. Thin mouthfeel with strong dark chocolate, roast, with lingering dryness, very good.

Draft at GABBF: Poured a brown black with tan head. Aroma was sweet with chocolate. Taste was a pleasant mix of cocoa and strong bitter coffee bean, smooth but dry finish.

12 oz bottle poured. Bottled 12/18/14. Pours black with a big cola fizzy head. Roasted coffee flavor, but semi mild. Chocolate finish. Somewhat a typical stout in my opinion, but all is good nonetheless. Roasted malt aroma from a distance. Thick, creamy body. Not bad.

Dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Coffee and chocolate with vanilla. Medium bitter chocolate. Full creamy mouth with soft carbonation.

Nice mellow, woody aroma, superb smoky, chocolaty taste. Silky smooth body, sweet and smoky finish. All around great stout.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice dark brown close to black color with a thin semi-annual head that dissipated within about a good thirty seconds. Light lacing traced around the glass.
The smell had a dark chocolate overcoating a deep dark grain (oatmeal I’m suspecting).
The taste was mainly roasty sweet chocolate with a delicate yet sharp bitter coffee to balance. Light chocolate aftertaste amplifies a dry silky finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed to be appropriate for the style and it was good to me.

Bottle from Bert’s Solid dark brown black color with a decent sized tan head that shows moderate retention. Aromas of creamed coffee and chocolate dominate. Light earthy hop, cereal grain, and a faint pitted fruit round out the aroma nicely. The flavor is rich mocha with just a touch of vanilla. Light earth and fruit for posterity. Medium body with a creamy silky mouthfeel and a light level of carbonation. I could drink the hell out of these given half a chance.
