Unique Imperial Stout. Black, intense and komplex. Well-balanced roasted, fruity and liquorice notes with a mild bitterness and a hint of sweetness. Legendary brew from BFM clocking in at 10.276 % vol. With its ebony colour, a dense coffee flavoured foam, the bouquet incorporates hints of liquorice, Bourbon vanilla, and Sarawak pepper. Dry hopping notes and the use of roasted malts are also perceptible. On the palate, it introduces burly and creamy tastes with developing aromas that are slightly sour, but the finish proves to be long with a subtle tartness that grants this revolutionary Cuvee its ungovernable supremacy.

Bottled swing top. Murky opaque brown color, small steady brown head. Slightly tart, toasted rye aroma with some yeast, oak-wood. Taste has licorice, some vanilla, tobacco, light tart note, Interesting and less alcoholic than 10% indicates, but not really good impy.

The bottle looks unusual for an Imperial Stout, but good. The beer in the glass deep black, nice head. Starts malty and strong, very woody from the beginning to the end. Notes of spices reminding of christmas and a little bit like eucalyptus. Warming finish. A good Imperial Stout! Big thanks to Allen for that bottle!

Swing top bottle from Allen, thanks! Almost black and opague. Soft roastaroma with a hint of dried fruit. Silky and velvety mouthfeel. Roast flavor with dark chocolate, coffee, cardemom, pepper and vanilla.Some signs of infection, but the beer is so powerful that it doesn’t hurt. On the thin side for this type of beer, but well attenuated and fairly dry. Good!

330 mL swingtop from Wine & Beer Westpark in Richmond, VA. Black colored pour with a big frothy head. Low head retention and average lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, funk, pepper, tannins and a faint vanilla note. Taste is tannic funk, apple juice, cumin and roasted malts. Definitely an odd one.

Pours dark dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma is pretty mild in strength but has loads going on here. I get muted dark fruity esters, earthiness on multiple levels, sugar notes and other lighter tones I can’t discern. The taste feels thin to start and then picks up red wine fruitiness and red wine tannins, earthiness, dark chocolate, more fruity tannins and spices. It finishes pretty darn dry with a lingering alcohol sense, some earthiness and chocolate.

Pours dark brown with tan head. Sour roasted malt aroma. Not what you would expect from an impy stout. Tart taste with peppery spices, earthiness and some woody flavors. Surprisingly, I don’t taste any acohol. Medium to full body with average carbonation and a dry finish. It doesn’t taste like an impy stout to me, but I am really liking this beer.

Cool little 11.2oz swingtop bottle! Great appearance is dark brown with a large creamy tan head. Nose is roasted malt, light cocoa, and coffee bitters. Tastes of dark chocolate and bitters. Must be the pepper... A little sweetness before a spicey and bitters twinge. Rather dry. Different take on the impy and overall fun to try.

This one is pretty unique. Very dark, near opaque black, not much head, light carbonation. Aroma isn’t as complex as expected, with some dark caramelly roast and a hint of vanilla. Full semi-roasted palate, with a notable tanginess, almost tart, heading toward the finish. Finish is long and bitter, drying, mildly tannic.
