Unique Imperial Stout. Black, intense and komplex. Well-balanced roasted, fruity and liquorice notes with a mild bitterness and a hint of sweetness. Legendary brew from BFM clocking in at 10.276 % vol. With its ebony colour, a dense coffee flavoured foam, the bouquet incorporates hints of liquorice, Bourbon vanilla, and Sarawak pepper. Dry hopping notes and the use of roasted malts are also perceptible. On the palate, it introduces burly and creamy tastes with developing aromas that are slightly sour, but the finish proves to be long with a subtle tartness that grants this revolutionary Cuvee its ungovernable supremacy.

Sampled from an 11.15 oz flip top brown bottle this beer poured a very dark brown color with a huge creamy tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was cola, wood, cherry, vanilla, toasty malts and anise. The flavor was sweet yet bitter with toasty malts, wood, fig, raisin, anise and a bit of cognac. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Odd but interesting.

Complete black color with a fine frothy beige head. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium to full body and a soft carbonation. Ok sweetness and a bit oily texture. Chocolate, berries, some spices and some sour notes in the flavor. Complex and a bit weird beer.

Bottle from Taniguchi. BFM Cuvée Alex le Rouge 10.276% A Jurassian Imperial Stout whatever that means. A deep black with a light beige head. An aroma of chewy oatmeal bars and savoury chocolate. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. The initial taste is roasty chocolate before giving you a fruity bitterness. Good stuff that gives you a surprising amount of berry flavor midway between raspberry and strawberry.

0,33l bottle at home from trade with SinH4, big thanks. Batch 2015. BB 07/2020. dark brown / almost black color, medium big tan head. smells sour, green apples, light licorice, spices, earthy, grass, marzipan, parfume. decent smell. full body, medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes sourish but also quite sweet, licorice, nutty, marzipan, some caramel, light funk, hints of coffee. finishes dry/sourish/sweet with notes of nuts, marzipan and licorice. decent stuff but overall rather weird. lightly soured imp stout with quite a lot of sweetness, misses the usual roast & coffee notes. has some nice nutty notes, but overall too sweet and lacking some complexity. good but could be better.

Svart med høyt lys brunt skum som ligger godt. Lukter sure kirsebær, melkesjokolade, svovel, nøtter og trevirke. Fyldig. Søtlig smak i starten, bær og sjokolade. Salt lakris og kaffebitterhet i avslutningen. Lang.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks zvsn. 2015 batch. Dark brown to black with a beige head. Aroma of roast, nuts, dark fruits, caramel, a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor, slightly sourish, with caramel, roast, nuts, some dark fruits, an alcoholic note and a bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Not very Imperial Stout-ish.
