Unique Imperial Stout. Black, intense and komplex. Well-balanced roasted, fruity and liquorice notes with a mild bitterness and a hint of sweetness. Legendary brew from BFM clocking in at 10.276 % vol. With its ebony colour, a dense coffee flavoured foam, the bouquet incorporates hints of liquorice, Bourbon vanilla, and Sarawak pepper. Dry hopping notes and the use of roasted malts are also perceptible. On the palate, it introduces burly and creamy tastes with developing aromas that are slightly sour, but the finish proves to be long with a subtle tartness that grants this revolutionary Cuvee its ungovernable supremacy.

Bottle, at Haand Festival. Dark brown and unclear in the glass, with a small head. Cocoa, spices, pepper, chocolate, brown sugar and a faint touch of coffee in the aroma, complex and lovely. The flavor is pretty much the same, with even more focus on the chocolate. Spices, cocoa, sugar and some coffee, with a warming alcohol touch too. Full body. Spiced, chocolatey finish with lots of cocoa. This was sure nice. 140524

Pours an extremely dark brown with a good head of tan foam. Lacing is okay.
I get notes of spicy pepper and what seems like a fruity tartness.
Peppery for sure. Some roasted malt, bitter chocolate, vanilla. overall tastes, I can only describe as rough.
Full bodied with great carbonation.
Strange taster of the style. Doesn’t exactly hit my palate right.

Complex but more muddled than what my palate likes. Strong pepper, the way the roasted malt and vanilla comes across.

Kanske aningen astringent.

Strange fruity tart kind of porter. Maroon pour with OK head and lacing. Light sweet finish. Only a hint of roast. The pepper makes for a vegetable sourness but doesn’t leave much spiciness. Cask at Churchkey.

Pours a deep black color, topped with a generous beige colored head. Mild aroma of roasted malts, some coffee notes, later on some pleasant caramel and chocolate. Taste starts sweet, slightly fruity and with some chocolate notes. Bittery finish, mild. Very nice, mild and drinkable.

BOTTLE 33 CL from CH-303.
Look: almost opaque black, beige frothy head.
Aroma: intense, hoppy, "green", herbal/peppery, citrus/lemony and hints of cloves. Light alcohol notes. Very little black malts and some light fruity notes at the very end.
Taste: again full of hoppy, peppery flavours, zesty and lemony, totally overwhelming the roast and sweetness of a stout. Light astringent acidity, zesty/peppery bitterness in the finish. Easy drinking body.
A unique and somewhat bizarre stout, roughly in the Belgian style, with "green" flavours totally dominating the malts.
