Draft at the source. Dark amber with a thin, white head. Caramel and vanilla in a mildly sweet aroma. Taste is sweet with notes of toffee and hints of coffee bitterness at the finish. Body is to the light side of medium, a touch watery.

On tap at the brewpub. Fast klare orange braune Farbe, mittelgroße leicht beige schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, Karamell, reife Früchte. Geschmack kräftig malzig, süß, kaum bitter, scharf getreidig, deutlich alkoholisch.

As Fastenbock Süßlicher Malzbeginn mit deutlichen Hefenoten. Weicher im Mittelteil, würzig, angenehme Restsüße. Dann noch hefiger, leicht herb, ausgewogen. Ein harmonischer und süffiger dunkler Bock! 9/10/11/11//11

Draught at the bräuhaus
Red-amber color, hazy; generous head, compact. It’s served icy cold. Light aroma of roasted malts. Ordinary body strength, the mouthfeel is not round enough; it has a dry caramel flavor, with some mildly roasted malts; it’s a bit dusty, it shows the alcohol too much, and it would definitively benefit from some sweetness. Average.

(on tap at the brewpub) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a small and light-beige foamy head. Sweet and slightly toasty malty nose with a whiff of caramel. Sweet sweet flavour, only medium bodied with a moderate carbonation, which is much better matured compared to their Pilsener. Solid malty base, slightly bready taste with notes of caramel; sweet malty and caramelly finish with a balancing bitterness at the very end. Not a world-shaking but pretty drinkable amber Bock. 08.12.07

Draught Copper-red beer with small amberish head. Bread, yeast, a bit grassy and ever so slightly roasted nose. Roasted and sweet, very well balanced, ending in caramel and grass. Warming up, some almondy notes. Well-bodied; long lasting, no new aftertaste. Very good "Ur"bock. Typical, but good.
