Het kent een kruidig karakter met een zachte bitterheid. De kleur is bruin-paarsdonker. De smaak is karaktervol door enkele soorten gebrande gersten die gebruikt worden bij het brouwen en die op natuurlijke wijze kleur geven aan dit prachtige bier.

330ml bottle sampled with Skinnyviking and Finn Arvid at Pegasus, Copenhagen. Off-white foam coming out of the bottle. A bit unclear, tan coloured body. Spicy aroma with sweet dark malts. More dark malts, heading towards caramel, in flavour. Slightly roasted added by brown sugar. Yeasty finish. Soft carbonated (28.05.2008).

33cl bottle: Pours dark amber/brown with a lasting white head. Aroma is complex of berries, malts, caramel, yeast & dark fruits. Filling & smooth body/texture. Yeast & caramel/toffee dominates - lightly sweet & pleasant. There is a tiny scent of metal lying underneath - but no harm is actually being done. Quite tasty & nice Belgium strong overall!

This is another very nice brew from this brewery. It pours with a very large foamy head and an orange hue of brown colored body, where the very bottom center of the glass has a beautiful glow from the light. Otherwise, you cannot see through it at all and the head never really fades, just leaves a thick lacing across the whole surface. The head just has these little bubbles that are constantly popping, little by little, so fun to look at. Aroma starts with a fruity, esters filled brown sugar smell. There is a light bit of smoke underneath that, which I just love. Hints of sweet raisin and just a faint touch of dry herb. Taste starts with strong fruity esters and finishes with a dry herbalness and a very light bitterness from the herbal flavor. This dry bitter herb sits around for a bit and its hugged by fruity sweetness. It has a soft mouthfeel and very, very easy to keep drinking. The body is just medium, the carbonation is not strong, just goes down, as if it weren’t even there. I do not know what it is but this brewer hits the sweet spot with me.

33 cL bottle. Pours brown with a dark orange hue, dense, huge and tan head. Yeasty and caramel aroma, mild yeasty spice note. Flavour is sweet toffee, dark caramel malt and distinct yeast spice note. Has a smooth chocolate note following this. Goes into a flavourful light spiced note alongside the smooth chocolate notes in the finish.

Dark brown with off white head. Aroma has sweet malt, ripe fruits and yeast. Flavor does not match the aroma and is some what watery malty with plums.

Hazy dark amber brew, with a small, fizzy, off-white head - the aroma is fairly yeasty, with a strong caramel sweetness, candied dark fruits (fig, raisin), and background wintery spices (nutmeg) - not as yeasty as I thought it would be based on the aroma, but a moderate yeasty character remains in the background throughout - a bit peppery/spicy at first, which dies down fast, but a mild warming spice character remains in place as some dark fruit and chocolate flavors become dominant - strong caramel and fig sweetness finishes thing off, but a strong spiciness persists, coupling with moderate alcohol to make the beer fairly warming - a tad too sweet, though - rather subtle, and lacking some depth, but quite nice for the cold weather.

Clear red brown beer with a nice and fluffy off-white head. Fruity aroma with raisins, cherry, marzipan, brown sugar and a little alcohol. Rather sweet caramel flavour with lots of Belgian yeast character, but overall, the beer is quite one-dimensional.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a big light brown foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma of sweet Belgian malt is dominating with some hints of dry fruits. Taste is also dominated by nice toffee Belgian malt with some candi sugar and some dry fruits such as figs and plums components. Body is about average with some good carbonation and no alcohol could be notice. Overall, I would have to say that this beer was very well done for the style.

Bottle, 8%. Gusher. Muddy dark brown colour, sparkling. Small, stable light brown head. Very yeasty aroma. The flavour is also very yeasty and slightly malty along with a little fruit and OK pepper. Yeasty aftertaste, otherwise watery. Very high carbonation. Does not taste its ABV. Would have been better if the high carbonation had not mixed the yeast into the beer.
