ABV: 7.5%. Clear medium to dark brown colour with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, hay, toasted - roasted, caramel, dark malt, dusty. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, caramel - dark malt, toasted, malty, light bread. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. 500ml bottle. Clear, dark brown colour with ruby shimmer and average to huge, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, some dark caramel. Taste is sweet-ish, dark and caramel malty, notes of malt lozenge, some dark caramel, some chocolate, a minimally toasty, nutty touch of nougat, mild, bitter hoppy counterpart. Slightly creamy, watery texture, smooth, soft and silky, minimally cloying palate, fine, foamy, mildly prickly carbonation. Well balanced, homogeneous, highly drinkable - not bad.

Abt Knauer Bock in der dunklen Variante, Flasche von Keils Getränkemarkt, Bayreuth. - Kupferbraun, klar. - In der Nase sehr mildes dunkles Malz, leise weinig-fruchtige Noten, kaum Hopfen. - Antrunk kräftig aber etwas derb dunkelmalzig mit bitterer Nuß und sirupartiger Süße. Milder rezent, vollmundig, spürbar alkoholisch. Auch der Abgang ist zwar gut bitter aber ziemlich plump, mit leicht chemischer Note. Etwas leerer Nachtrunk. - Eher billig gemachter dunkler Bock für oberflächliche Trinker, ohne die komplexe Tiefe guter Böcke. Kann mir einer erklären, wie die durchweg positiven Bewertungen hier zustandegekommen sind? (2.3.2019.)
