Das Doppelbock stammt aus der Zeit der alten Germanen. Sie opferten ihren Göttern Ziegenböcke und tranken dabei besonders stark eingebrautes Bockbier. Doppelbock ist deshalb ein besonderes Bier für besondere Anlässe und wurde zum 110-jährigen Bestehen der Sonnenbräu Rebstein erstmals gebraut. Doppelbock hat einen höheren Alkoholgehalt.

A classical doppelbock, for me this big bottle was correct, a bit smocked, dry mat, mineral, easy to drink for the style, perle hop probably, classical bitterness. 10.06.2020

Old rating from 2017, 330ml bottle on my 6 country road trip. Poured at home in Jersey, it's golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of dark fruit, caramel, grain, toffee & hops. Moderate body. Mild bitter finish

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Pours clear deep golden colour with a mid-sized to small white head. Aroma of sharp grains and pale malt. Taste of sharp grains, mild hops, pale malt, boring!

50cl swing-top bottle. Grainy nose. The beer starts fresh and malty. The alcohol is well hidden, but the body has too much grain. Easy to drink, hints of malt, moderate sweetness and sweetish grain.

Bottle. Golden color with a medium creamy tan head. the aroma is dark fruit, alcohol and light malty

Leicht alkoholisches, mild hellmalziger Beginn. Herb, wenig würzig. Dann intensiver alkohlisch, dabei trocken, plörrig wirkend, unausgewogen. 8/6/7/6/8/6

Blond color. Boring malt aroma and flavor; oily mouthfeel. Ordinary bitterness. It’s a low quality Strong Lager.

bottle. Pale yellow, medium-sized head. Sweet and malty start, slightly alcoholy. Malty middle and dry, hoppy finish and aftertaste.

An orange beer with an OK but disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor with primary notes of alcohol but also caramel. The body is thin and the flavor is very simple even though it is a European strong lager.

Bottled. Golden colour, no head. Fruity peach aroma.Sweet and malty, some plums. Mild and raisiny. Sugary finish. Not exactly the most doppelbockish of doppelbocks...
