This double IPA is big, brewed with over 5 lbs per barrel of American and Australian hops, and packed with fruity, citrus, pine, and resin notes for a bold hop finish. Cheers!

12oz bottle-retaining offwhite-gold. A-resin/some pine/zest, lt/med malt. T-resin hops, slightly sweet lt/med malt. Nice, on the gentle side for an I2PA.

Bottle. Clear golden/copper color. Nice head diminishes to a slick film. Aroma is heavy, sweet caramel, burnt toast, and pine. ALOT of caramel malt sweetness and pine resin dominate the taste. Full bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel. Moderately bitter boozy finish. In the end this is just a tad too sweet for me.

12oz bottle pours with a copper body that has a slight haze and supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up pineapple, mango, peach and tangelo fruitiness and then a floral sort of minty sensation off in the background. The taste has a nice thick body that unloads resiny pine like hop bitterness malt sweetened with pineapple, tangerine and peach fruitiness. Behind the citrus and tropical hops lurks floral hoppiness. This is a pretty solid big tropical and citrus like fruity IPA. A IIPA though? This is a pretty tame IIPA.

Crisp very slightly hazy amber coloured body with some copper highlights and a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, pine, pineapple, resin and a good deal of caramel malt. Full-bodied; Strong caramel flavour with a malt-forward flavour and some subdued resinous and piney hops that show a little character along with some grassy yeast notes at the end. Aftertaste is relatively one-dimensional with a lot of malt, some light hops and more caramel and alcohol than anything else. Overall, a decent Imperial IPA that borders more on a normal IPA or if anything, an Imperial APA, not that such a thing exists. But if you are looking to buy an Imperial IPA and donβt want more than one, pass this one up - there are far better ones available for your bucks. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Arlington (Glebe Road South), Virginia on 14-February-2015 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 30-March-2015.

12 ounce bottle. Bright Amber orange with a large Rocky beige head. Nice clinging lace. Big pine and grapefruit hop aroma. Assertive pine hops in flavor balanced nicely with the dark caramel malt. Notes of butterscotch and pine needles. Silky feel with a noticeable alcohol kick. spicy bitter hops finish this nicely. A decent DIPA.

Notched on the side, best by June, 2015.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was basically a semi-hazy bronzed orange with a slight transparency running about it. A thin white foamy to bubbly head quickly dissipated leaving some bubbly lacing.
The smell has some sweet grapefruit with a light grassy connotation, light apricot and a slight resinous quality about it.
The taste was bittersweet thoroughly balancing between the sweet grassy and grapefruit to the sweet maltiness running about. A semi - sweet grapefruit aftertaste leads to a decent semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but the bitterness was somewhat low not as sharp as I thought could be there.
Overall, good as a DIPA and I could have it again for me but I donβt necessarily think itβs a real \"west coast\" styled DIPA as there didnβt seem to be quite enough bitter harshness on my tongue.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 7/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, honey, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, lemon/orange zest, pine, honey, bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp and resinous sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent DIPA. All around great robustness, balance, and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
