Bottle. A clear, dark amber to brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. Loads of yeast and some chalk on the nose, with some caramel and coffee. Roasted malts too. The flavor is equally yeasty, with some nuts, caramel and rye bread. Sourish and warming on the palate, full-bodied and effervescent, with a little bitterness chiming in towards the finish. Not much of a beer this one. 140830

Huge, pale beige head over hazy reddish brown beer. Sweet nose with dark malts, bit madeirisated character, and a clear hint at chocolatemalts. Dry coffee, even tad powdery feel, then more slick, roasted maltsyrup. Brown breadspread (Marmite, horror or horrors?). Bit spicy, cypress. Medium bodied, feels heavier than it probably is. OK, this is better than homebrew. But not anymore characterful than a brown/blond from the inexhaustibel Du Bocq beerchain.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at HBF2013) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was large and white. Aroma had desinfecting solvent, malts and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were something medicin-like, malts, solvent, yeast and bitterness. Aftertaste had solvent. Quite bad beer.
