Anderhalve kilo saffraan uit Bali is gebruikt in deze saison. Door Steve zelf meegenomen en ingevoerd. Bedenk je eens dat Saffraan nu voor 12,50 per 2 gram (!) verkocht wordt in Nederland. De zachte smaak van de saffraan met de kruidige droge toetsen van de saison geven een intense smaakbeleving.

Geprobeerd @BeerXperience Oirschot 2016(?) Het heeft is een amberkleurig bier met een medium schuimkraag. Het aroma is moutig en wat bloemig. De smaak is moutig, kruidig en wat bitter.

On tap @ Beerfestival Groningen 2018. Amber with a white head. Malty aroma. Taste is medium bitter. Not as dry as most saison, maybe that the nouvelle part?

Hefiger, süß kräutriger Antrunk. Weiche Herbe, spritzig, die Hefenoten steigen an. Etwas erhöhte Karbonisierung, alkoholische Nuancen. Trocken werdend, kräutrig bleibend, langer Nachhall. 8/10/9/10/7/9

Bottle, 7% ABV, BB 02.03.2018 (from hetbiermoment). Pours dark golden with huge whiteish head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, strawberries, slight citrus, caramel. Flavor is sweet, bitter, fruity, yeasty, caramel, malt, more strawberries. Finish is matly sweet with bitterness. Feels potent, but not boozy. Overall: solid, more Biere de Garde (as the label says) than traditional Saison (current style in rb).

Thanks to Kraddel! Sampled bottled @ Modeste 2017. Got a bit of a fresh bottle & that was unpleasant, thin fizzy, metallic, nothing excessive spice but instead they gave me a tasting glass from a 2 year bottle which interesting was far better in every way. Orange, almost darker even than the fresh one, solid off-white head. Nose is orange peel, grainy, almost faint age. Taste is pleasant near lively carbonation sweet grain & orange peel, caramel, near jam, with low oxidation, faint soap, still bit messy but far nicer, thinned out spices. Definitely improves with age.

Donker gouden met witte kraag. Aroma van mout, kruiden en gras. Smaken zijn zacht, redelijk zoet, gras, hooi:stro, licht floraal, mis wel een beetje de Saison gist.

Off white bubbly head stayed well on a hazy rustic coloured body. Citrus, malt & berry aroma. Medium bodied. Feels full on the palate & well carbonated - sharp on the back. Bitter/Sweet tastes of plum, grape, nectarine & hints of malt on the back. Excellent Saison

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy dark amber with a tan head. Toasted malty. Caramelish. Mild fruity. Caramelish and slight phenolic. Bitter and toasted malty far finish. Sweet and toasted finish.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity aroma, notes of yellow stone fruit, mild spicy-grassy hoppy overtones. Taste is dry, grassy-herbal-spicy hoppy, minimally perfumed, hints of mint, woodruff. Meh.
