Bottle shared at the John/Jim tasting. Black with a small beige head. Aroma of roast, licorice, dark chocolate, caramel, malt, coffee and fudge. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle shared with Joes, Judyvv and Countbeer. Opaque black color, medium to full sized beige to light brown head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, an unexpected sort of underlying sweetness overpowered by malt bitterness. Taste malts, dark malts, light milk chocolate, medium to firm roasty flavors. Medium body, average carbonation. Doesn’t taste like 12% ABV to me. Dangerously easy drinkable.

On tap at Uiltje Bar. Black colour, beige - brown head. Aroma is sweet, brown sugar, chocolate, molasses, roasted malts. Flavour is very sweet, almost sickly, brown sugar, chocolate, molasses, light vanilla, booze, roasted malts. Full bodied. Too sweet for me.

pitch dark, smooth brown head. bottle was a delayed lava gusher. roasted malts, faint herbal notes in the aroma. quite mild aroma, but full, and not boozy. Flavor is roasted malts, tea and herbal sweetness, smoked dryness, licorice powder, charchoal, the faint smoked charchoal notes might be related. Apart from that , a sweetish imp stout, quite velvety, but with a bit too much sugary milky sweetness, and some charchoal notes that fail to fit into the very rounded velvety impression from the rest. I might have gotten myselv a not-the-best kind of bottle.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours an opaque black with a dense, light brown head. Decent retention. Sweet, mushy, dried fruit in the nose. Extremely rich and potent body, very sweet, again more dark, dried fruit and molasses than roasted malt. Doesn’t really have an alcohol bite, yet still warms you comfortably in the finish. 091215

Bottle at Matt’s
Black color with medium brown head. Wonderful dark aroma: chocolate, malts and smoke. Good body strength; it has a very good chocolate flavor, moderate sweetness, hints of vanilla, oak, tobacco; ends with a quite high alcohol note.
Excellent.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out intense roasted malt, a touch of alcohol, some scorched hops and a little cocoa. Flavour is robust and thick as fuck, with roasted malt, booze and maybe a touch of smoke. Boozy, but not detracting. Roasty and harsh, but in a nice way. Excellent.
