50 cl bottle @ home
Aroma has English hops, some toffee and vegetables typical to Laitila beers. Flavour has vegetables, pea soup, some English hops, toffee, grass and hints of caramel. Also some peppery spices. Too much vegetables here. Actually this reminds me of Laitilan Kukko Pils, which is really, really weird.

500ml bottle. Clear copper golden amber colour, foamy white head leaving some lacing and a fruity toffee aroma. Taste is sweet biscuity caramel malt, an orange hop grassy bitterness, with earthy, toffee & slight metallic notes, and a very dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, warming alcohol. Quite OK.

50cl bottle from Morrisons. Golden amber with a thin ring of white head; malty aroma with a hint of spice; full and fruity in the mouth with some caramel malt sweetness; and a dry, prickly finish leaving some toffee and mango, and a pleasant warming sensation. The best Shep beer Iโve had in a long while.

Clear, lively, amber beer with a thin frothy head and a slightly malty, fruit aroma. A bit fizzy/sharp on the tongue I think. The taste sort of contrasts the aroma, it still has the malt but the fruit is much sharper. Iโm not keen on the finish which has a slightly sour edge. Itโs not unpleasant but itโs not one Iโd rush to have again either.

(bottle) Clear, golden to amber colour with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Cara-malty, slightly buttery aroma with fruity and slightly spicy hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. solid cara-malty base with notes of butterscotch and fruity hops; sweet-bitter biscuity malty and mildly fruity hoppy finish with a light presence of alcohol. Likeable. 03.II.13

500ml bottle from Terre de Boisson Calais. Clear pale brown with a lasting beige head. Quite a hoppy beer. In fact very tasty indeed. Hoppy good hoppy with some toffee too. Quite bitter. In fact pretty good. Best Sheps beer Iโve had in years and years.
