Ale with Strawberries, Honey, and White Pepper Aged in Wine Barrels
Inspired by an amuse bouche often prepared by the wife of one of our brewers, Scully brings white pepper, strawberry, and honey to a harmonious blend of “mouth amusement”. The ingredients are added at different stages to a Saison, and fermented with a normal Belgian yeast as well as a Champagne yeast.

Sampled from the tap at the 2010 GTMW. Poured a cloudy gold with a white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma was sweet with strawberries and honey and a bit of underlying yeast and pepper. Flavor was mainly strawberries with a bit of growing honey, a good amount of yogurt. and just a bit of underlying pepper led to a nice balanced beer.
