Murphy's Law reversed! When you have an off spec beer you are left with two choices. Dump it or play with it. We at Nøgne Ø believe in seeing the possibilities and grasping the opportunities given. Our miscoloured Saison was put in fresh red wine barrels, and the flavours created we found irresistible. So we made more. This bottle contains a blend of our finest red wine barel aged Saison.

0.33L bottle from Beers of Europe. Explosive gusher (batch #1331), spectacularly inconvenient, probably lost a quarter of the bottle. Cloudy orange appearance with a nice white head. Fruity aroma but quite sour, yeast. Flavour matches the aroma, sour and fruity, apple, yeast. I guess it wasn’t so bad but not really my style.

Bottle from beers of Europe. Hazy golden colour white head. Probably the most explosive beer I’ve had. Open and more than half spurted out in a fountain of beeriness. Citrus aroma and taste. Great beer I just wish more was left.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - cloudy orange with a decent thin head. Nose - sour apples some dried orange. Taste - a bit more orangey. Light saison spice on the end. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - a decent saison. Didn’t hit the high notes but balanced.

Almost a gusher. Orangish amber with a large and growing white head. Aroma is quite Orvalish - Bretty with nectarines, mandarins, hay, kumquats. white pepper. Sweet with some husky grain, light dough, ornages, spices, mild funk. Doesn’t dry out much at the end; some pepper and Sichaun pepper there. Fairly low bitterness. BB 7/17 - maybe it will dry out in time.
