Murphy's Law reversed! When you have an off spec beer you are left with two choices. Dump it or play with it. We at Nøgne Ø believe in seeing the possibilities and grasping the opportunities given. Our miscoloured Saison was put in fresh red wine barrels, and the flavours created we found irresistible. So we made more. This bottle contains a blend of our finest red wine barel aged Saison.

Fra flaske (0,33) på sesongens siste M2, Cardinal juni-15: lett uklar gylden med fint skum. Snev av brett i aromaen, i tillegg til rødvin og litt pepper. Nydelig, frisk smak - tørr og elegant. Fornemmer rødvinsfatet i ettersmaken. Uhyre lettdrikkelig - den burde vært på 0,5 flasker!

Flavour has strong bretta tones, red wine, woody tones and ripe apricot. Somewhat intensive. Leathery finish, aftertaste has some milky and papery wibes. A bit messy but not bad.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - batch 977 - brygget 03.06.13 - BB 03.06.18, at Ølhus København, Helsinki, 20150411) The beer poured deep amber and hazy. Its head was large, white and it lasted long. Aroma had spices, sourness, vineousness and wood. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were wood, spiciness, vineousness, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody, spicy and bitter. I didn’n know what to expect but the end result was a pleasing brew.
