Nice one! A bit too alcoholic, but otherwise quite good.

Bottle at home. Dark brown our with a coarse-grained tan head that quickly gives way to a thin lacing. Notes of bourbon, a bit raw but not overpowering, milk chocolate, roasted coffee, molasses, cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, light to medium carbonation. Smooth texture and a pleasant mouthfeel, until the alcohol kicks in. The alcohol is a bit too present in this beer, generating a spiciness and harsh bitterness in the aftertaste, but other than that I think this is a decent barrel-aged stout.

750ml bottle at Jupiter, Berkeley. Brown to black color with beige head. Malty aroma, roasted, caramel, dark dried fruits, chocolate, wood, alcohol. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Light to medium, thin to oily body with soft carbonation.

Waxed and capped 750 from the Woodland CostCo. Pours very dark brown with a slight, transient dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, mild heat and bourbon. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, bourbon, dark treacle and heat. The chocolate comes across as earthy and dark. It’s not at all sticky, tho not wholly dry. It is bitter, like dark chocolate. Pretty tasty stuff.
