330ml bottle from Trafalgar Wines, Brighton. Pours pitch black treacle. Soft on the tongue with mild hints of liquorice, roasted grain and dark caramel without ever getting too heavy. Has a malty stout aftertaste that rests nonchalantly on the palate.

Bottle from Tomlinsons, Inverness [160213]
Black, thin ruby edges on glass, thin tan head, some lacing
Aroma - soft citrus, hint of chocolate, light aroma
Taste soft roasted malts, touch of cola, some sweet dark malts, touch of chocolate, citrus hops, dab of piney hop, nice touch of floral hop, well balanced...good flavour but rather light though...i like BIPAs to be fairly robust
Palate - Medium carb, bit over carbonated thin to medium body. Soft mouthfeel, light bitterweet palate. Finish as main flavour with a soft linger with some roasted dark malts coming through
Overall - A black IPA with a mellow stouty flavour with some soft citrus and a dab of floral hop in there. ...there are many variations of BIPAs out there - this is the style I like.....Must try this in cask one day
