The hop. Humulus lupus. We worship this mischievous flower and its elusive oils. Our IPA captures the flavours and aromas of the Cascade, Columbus and Chinook hops. This beer sings ‘All hail the hop!’

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of citrusy and spicy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, citrus fruits, and spicy hops, leading to a bitter finish.

Bottle: Nose is mango sorbet, cream, sugars. Taste underwhelms compared to the nose: floral, herbs leading to a thin slightly watery backbone and then pine with biscuit bitter finish. The alcohol is very leaden in this, tasting much more than is ABV, and gives it a syrupy vodka note which is unappealing. Mouthfeel is a little thin.

Bottle at the Night of Garbage, thanks to Leighton, 20/12/13 up his shit load of stairs ! Lightly hazed golden with a moderate white covering. Nose is bitter orange, light citrus, straw, touch of hoppage. Taste comprises orange pith, earthy mineral bite, straw, citrus fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, grassy bitterness in a drying conclusion. Ok drinkable IPA, more a super charged GB in some respects, entry level IPA.

Bottle at the Night of Garbage. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is bitter-sweet, pine, toast, candy, lemon and orange sherbet. The taste is bitter-sweet, pine, a touch watery, light toast, lemon, orange peel and some peppery notes with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Easy-going and pretty drinkable, but not a show-stopper.

Bottle shared at the Night of Garbage. Picked up at Kris Wines, pours clear gold with a creamy white head. Fairly mild aroma, some dry citrus, tangerine, pine needles. Medium sweet flavor with light sticky citrus, pine, faintly jammy citrus. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Mild resinous finish, dry but jammy citrus, minerals, dried grass. Fair.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy golden body with a thick white head that holds well. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Pungent aroma of caramel, grapefruit and lychee. The taste is less intense than the aroma - flavours of alcohol, caramel and a hint of orange. Dry finish. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Average carbonation. A solid IPA, but I expected the fruity flavours of the hops to shine through on the taste a bit more. This bottle was 7.3% ABV.

330ml bottle from Glug, Newcastle. Pours a murky orange with a big hit of Chinook as soon as the caps popped off. Quite tasty, with a lemon sweetness and some tropical juice and pine together with a mild, enjoyable bitterness. Good stuff from a great new brewery.
