Many thanks to Erzengel for this sample. A slightly hazy golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting white head. Aroma of grainy malt, mild grassy hops. Taste of dry grainy malt, pale malt, mild grassy hops. Medium bitterness.

On tap at the brewery. Smooth fresh. Mild and yeasty. The fresh yeastiness covers a bit the bitter aroma, but fits in well a bit sweetish, fresh, still a bit bready. The aftertaste is yeasty-fresh, slightly smooth, easy to drink with a smooth yeastiness and slightly bitter-sweetish finish.

Angenehm hopfiger Beginn mit leichter Herbe. Spritzig, deutliche getreidenoten. Frisch, die Herbe intensiviert sich, der Hopfen noch etwas stärker. Geringe Fruchtnoten, milde Bitterkeit zum Schluss. Gelungenes klares Zwickel. 9/11/12/11//12

Tapped directly from the Lager-Tank: Pale golden, almost cloudy, big firm stable "dirty" head; spicy hops, yeast and "sweat" in the nose, backed by some residual sugars; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavours, very smooth, light bodied; hoppy-yasty finish, balanced by sweet pale malt. A gorgeous Zwickel, almost perfect........

(draught from the Zwickel-tank at the brewery) Almost cloudy, pale golden colour with a blond and tall foamy head. Yeasty spicy, slightly sweaty pale malty aroma with present herbal and slightly grassy hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a surprisingly creamy carbonation. Yeasty malty taste with present hops character; bitter-sweet herbal and grassy hoppy finish with subtle citric notes. A pleasant session beer, but finally I prefer the matured version. 13.IV.11
