Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered and dry hopped.

Pours a hazy amber from a tap. Funky cheese aroma, similar flavor and also quite grassy. Good beer.

Tap pour into goblet. Appearance is opaque dark orange/light brown with nice sparkle at edges of the glass, finger-plus white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma is pleasant floral and pine. Taste is pine, citrus, biscuit malts. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, frothy texture, soft carbonation and dry, light bitter finish. Overall, strong aroma and taste. Not terribly complex but very solid.
