Imperial Stout

Brewed with an abundance of malts, this stout is smooth as silk, yet complex and rich in body. Best enjoyed at cellar temperature to allow the notes of chocolate, dark fruit and caramel to soar. Put another log on the fire, sit back and enjoy the moment with this full-bodied and utterly delicious cold weather companion.

Bottle shared at high ABV tasting. Black with dark brown head that clears up after a little while to light brown. Loads of dark chocolate, and I mean loads! Some coffee, marzipan, blueberries, sweet red wine, vanilla, sweet nuts. Under heavy sweet and bitter, with full thick body. Massive classic RIS, faultless.

Bottle from West Side. One year aged. Pours a pitch black with a strong 2 fingers of brown foam that linger. Huge black forest cake nose with cherry, blueberry and fudge brownie. Smooth and silky on the palate, but still a little alcohol heat perceived. Big cacao nib, berry and fudge. So good. A sipper and can’t wait to open a few bottles in years to come.
