An imperial stout first brewed in 2015 by Fyne Ales who collaborated with Brouwerij De Molen in the Netherlands. The response was so successful that this beer has been made a permanent addition to Fyne's range. Mills & Hills is a rich, malty stout with lots of treacle and chocolate characters. This complex combination of malts and hops creates a full flavoured beer which is perfect for cold, wintry nights.

Black color with a beige head with short to medium duration and good lacework. Aroma has notes of toasted malts, some roasted, slightly coffee beans and liquor biscuit. Flavor is slightly sweet, toasty some plumbs and raisins are also present with burnt caramel hints. Creamy and smooth on palate with slightly bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle at ChrisO’s house of fun. Thanks to Craig. It pours near black with a decent tan head. The nose is rich roasted malt, bitter-sweet, toasty, cocoa, burnt toffee and spice. The taste is bitter-sweet, sweet roast, earth, dark chocolate, charred wood, pepper, dark fruits, rocky road, ash and warming alcohol with a dry, roasty finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Smooth and well-rounded. Rather nice.

Bottle from de Molen Beershop, BB Feb 2018, large sample. Dark brown color, short frothy brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, mocha, licorice, slight sweet fruit, bit coconut, hint of vanilla, molasses. Quite roasty and malty taste, slight alcohol, licorice again. Quite sticky in the finish and a tad too alcoholic. Could use some more creaminess, but the overall power is quite nice. The refreshing new world hops give it a lovely aroma and I can see this one do very well on barrels.
