An imperial stout first brewed in 2015 by Fyne Ales who collaborated with Brouwerij De Molen in the Netherlands. The response was so successful that this beer has been made a permanent addition to Fyne's range. Mills & Hills is a rich, malty stout with lots of treacle and chocolate characters. This complex combination of malts and hops creates a full flavoured beer which is perfect for cold, wintry nights.

Opaque black beer, thin light brown head. Smells of chocolate, malt, wood, fruit, alcohol. It's very smooth. Dried fruit, you can taste that it's been barrel aged, earthy malt, chocolate, a slight tangy-sour edge to it and surprisingly little backtaste. This is a big, beefy stout that goes down way too easily for the strength of it.

Bottle bought at the brewery of Fyne Ales. At home in Aberfoyle. Black color, good aroma, taste full of coffee and chocolate, a very long aftertaste. Drunk after climbing a mountain this day. Perfect beer!

330ml bottle from Beermerchants. BBE 05/2018. Pours pitch black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasty malts, syrup, loads of salty licorice, coffee, chocolate and cocoa. Taste is thick, roasty, heavy and slightly syrupy with loads of chocolate, licorice, coffee and earthiness. Finish is sweetish and roasty with hints of fruits, spices, coffee and licorice. Quite balanced, and luckily can’t locate the Sorachi Ace here.

Bottle - Dark chocolate and nice roasty notes. Jet black with a rich light brown head. Dark molasses, toffee and roast. Doesn’t start great, but slowly the chocolate, coffee and long slick toasty notes come through. A good amount of bitterness in the finish. Nicely done.
