An imperial stout first brewed in 2015 by Fyne Ales who collaborated with Brouwerij De Molen in the Netherlands. The response was so successful that this beer has been made a permanent addition to Fyne's range. Mills & Hills is a rich, malty stout with lots of treacle and chocolate characters. This complex combination of malts and hops creates a full flavoured beer which is perfect for cold, wintry nights.

Roast and a little nut. Some chocolate. A little swampy musk herb element like a weed plantation in the everglades. Bitter finish. Some caramel but pretty dry. Tap at partisan.

Bottle with expiry date 01.2019. Black colour, great frothy brown head with pretty lacing. Nose is coffee, maybe also coconut. Mouth is intensive coffee, a bit harsh, also praline. Alcohol is present but does not disturb. Full body, but not cloying, smooth. Good, it won’t be my favourite.

On tap at ’El Drapaire de la Cervesa Artesana’. Pitch black with a thin, very creamy, stable, light brown head. Sweetish, moderately roasty-malty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and hints of dark ripe fruits. Quite sweet, moderately roasty-malty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and dark ripe fruits, followed by a long, moderately roasty-bitter finish. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, almost flat. Very nice!
