0.3 l bottle from 'Mr. Hop' as 'Gouverneur Dubbel', best before September 2026. Hazy, very dark ruby with a large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently yeasty-spicy aroma of caramel, cocoa, some overripe banana and hints of raisins. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, gently yeasty-spicy, a little roasty and minimally fruity taste of caramel, cocoa, clove, overripe banana and light raisins, followed by a medium long, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, quite effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Solid.

Fles gekregen van Inoven, thuis geprobeerd. Het is een robijnrood bruinig bier met een volle beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout en caramel. De smaak is moutig met tonen van caramel, hout en koffie.

30cl bottle as « Lindeboom Gouverneur Dubbel » from Beerwulf webshop. F: big, tanned, good retention. C: brown with coppery hue against the light, almost clear. A: sweet malty, mellow fruity, caramel, bit chocolate T: sweet medium malty base, mellow fruity, bit bready, caramel, more on the dry side, leaves, medium carbonation, bit oily mouthfeel, let´s say ok.

A bit disappointing for me. It’s a little too bitter relative to the backing malt. which results in the beer coming across a little thin and harsh. Missing my favourite raisin characteristics of the style. Belgian beer factory online bottle

As Gouverneur Dubbel. Thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks simple but good. Roasty- malty aroma. Starts strong malty, roasty, dry. Some metallical notes. Fruity hints of plum. Finish rusty-malty. Not bad.
