Wild in character, a complex ale with dried fruit and clove aromas, and a satisfying dry finish. Inspired by great Trappist ales, our complex Belgian Style Pale Ale is fermented with the wild yeast Brettanomyces. Matilda pours a golden sunrise color with dried fruit and clove aromas, a spicy yeast flavor, and a satisfying dry finish.

On tap at Money Plays. Pours a clear copper golden with small off white head. The aroma is caramel malt and yeast. Thick mouthfeel with a strong yeast and fruity malt flavor. A good Belgian from Goose Island.Β

Bottle dated 10-21-11. Funky barnyard, sweet, tart, and citrus/floral aroma. Copper with a moderate, quickly dissipating beige head, suspended sediment. Sweet funky barnyard flavor, some tartness and a spicy finish. Medium body. Nice at the end of this 105 degree day.

Thanks Sean for sending me this. 375ML 2011 vintage poured into a Champagne flute.

A - No head at all. Gorgeous orange gold appearance.

S - Interesting scent. For the most part, i’m getting a sweet brown sugar scent with fresh cut grass and cherries.

T - Fairly large up front bitterness followed by an underlying molasses sort of sweetness. figs and cream. Sugar cubes and bready belgian charicteristics

M - 100% carbonation,medium heavy body.Lingering hop resin of pine needles

O - Not bad. Pretty tasty and overall, a bit too sweet.

Smells of heavily perfumed hops like a good Belgian. Pours an amber blond colour without too much head or tracing. Taste has a touch of sourness, some bitter finish. It’s along the lines of Chouffe or Delirium Tremens. A likable session style Belgian. Bottle from Health Food Store in Lebanon, NH.

Bottle at home. 2 year old. Hazy deep dark orange colour with a smal off-white head. Aromas of sweet fruits of peaches and some yeast. Mild malt sweetness in the mouth and a sweet flavour of camphor candies. Some taste of sour berries and alcohol. Round and mild bitterness. A fantastic interpretaion of a belgian ale. Very pleasant ale and distinct flavours.

This beer used to be better and seems to get worse every year. - more fruits and less perfume. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured hazy bronze color with a large foamy yellow white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was brett, Sweettart candies, perfume, bubblegum, lemon and chalk. The flavor is tart and chalky with strong perfume, bubblegum. brett, lemon and Sweettart candies. Medium length tart chalk perfume and brett. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

12oz bottle from Chuck’s poured into a Trappist glass. 2011 vintage. Pours a dark golden orange with almost no head. Aroma of candied sugar, dark fruits and caramel. Taste is light sweet and light bitter. Taste of sugar and dark fruit. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good. Can’t wait to grab a 22oz so I can have more.
