Liquorice is one of our favourite ingredients at Vibrant Forest and, as it's currently freezing in this wee brewery, we decided to both imperialise and sour things a little.
The aroma is dense, the souring and the liquorice blending into a titanic wall of flavour. The palate takes an immediate assault. Upfront is a smouldering wall of thick imperial stout; the souring has sharpened off the expected roasted edges and is suprisingly balanced. The finish releases the liquorice on a wave of tart soy and roasted malts.

Bottle at appellation. Pours black, nose is liquorice, roasted, smoky, biscuity, taste is meaty, roasted, salty, liquorice, blackcurrant.

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - deep brown to black with a thin head. Nose - dried fruit. Soya and dried fruit. Taste - dates and figs. Nuts and chocolate. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - lovely.

Bottle picked up from the brewery via Eebria consumed at Builth Wells, Powys, Wales in the company of Baz, Jude, Bayley, Dom and Georgia Saturday 30th December 2017 Pours black with a slim beige head. Old leather boots, liquorice and salt. The taste is much of the same, it's a difficult beer, do I like it (not sure) do I dislike it (no) it's a beer that challenges you. Still not sure. Bottle from the Brewery online shop via eebria. Pours oily black with a thin brown head. Aromas of liquorice and faint balsamic. Dark chocolate. Taste is sour cherry, more liquorice, quite tart. Then cocoa powder in the middle. Prunes at the end. Nice.
