No head on a murky brown body. Medium bodied thinning out to a dry back. Caramel, malt, whisky, grape & tangy tastes with a peppery finish.

330mml. bottle as part of the European Local Swap, many thanks @Erzengel for this bottle. @home, 06/05/2020 [#3.377 Global - #314 Germany - #3 Brauerei G.A. Bruch] Unclear Brown colour with a minimal White head. Poor retention. Aroma is whisky, soft vanilla and candies. Taste is harsh whisky barrels, caramell malts. Warm finish. Thin, not too deep flavours. Next one please!

Bottle, from one of my German friends, sorry for not naming you. Dark brown with no head. Aroma of malt, candies, alcohol. Taste, aweet malt, oxidation, honey, alcohol.

0,33 l bottle from Erzengel. Thanks a lot mate! Unclear brown in the glass, smallest fast fading head. Intensive whisky smell. Taste starts also with a lot of whisky and barrel wood. Little bit sweetness. No real carbonation. Not watery but a thin feeling at the palate.

330ml bottle, many thanks Kolshtirnker. for this! Pours a lightly misty deep amber, medium off-white head. Peaty whisky and caramel on the nose. Taste has a big whisky presence, fairly rich on the palate, oaky, threatening to overpower the relatively light bock base, almost no carbonation to lift from an oily palate. It's a hefty sipper, though the big malt base and chocolate warmth of an imperial stout is lamented somewhat. Overall, a decent whisky BA doppelbock, a little harsh, but does what it sets out to do.

Bottle from the brewery. Nose of wood and vanilla. The beer starts mild and vanilla-woody. A bit alcoholic with caramel in the back. Easy to drink with wood and vanilla and lots of malts and alcohol in the back. Round but not too deep.

33cl bottle. A clear deep amber beer with a small white head. Aroma of sweet vanilla, strong malt, wood. Taste of sweet woody malt, vanilla, oak, strong malt.

Whisky-malziger Beginn, der schon übersteuert wirkt. Holz und Vanille in übertriebenem Maße, wenig herb, unsüffig. Minimal herber, süß karamellig-herber Abgang. 8/5/8/8/7/8
