As striking an appearance as the hop profile of Diabolical IPA, the jackalope is a mythical animal of North American folklore described as a rabbit with deer antlers. It’s possible that the tales of jackalopes were inspired by sightings of them in Northern Michigan for many years.
The jackalope legend includes many claims as to the creature’s habits. For example, it’s said that a jackalope may be caught by putting a flask of whiskey out at night. The jackalope will drink its fill making the critter easier to hunt. We say, put a pint of Diabolical out and the little critter will be knocking on your door for more.

Sampled on draft at Smokin' Joe's this beer poured a dark copper color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was sweetish, piney, fruity and perfumey. The flavor was bitter with crystal malt and rough piney/fruity hops. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Bottle from GBBF 2016 and drunk at home. Clear brown amber colour lasting dark cream head. Lovely grapefruit pink grapefruit hop aroma. Quite malty in the mouth. Some dry brown malt flavour. Some more hop on the finish. The aroma is good then perhaps it’s just a little too malty. Quite sweet as well. Good though and well made.

Sampled from bottle @ ChrisO’s after GBBF Day 1. Clear orange color, medium sizded white head. Aroma is old stale hops, malts. Taste malts, hops, old hops, bitter, malt bitter. Appears old and not nearly in its best shape at all. Decent body and medium carbonation. Too bad this is old and oxidised.

Bottle. First beer from this brewery. Solid, maybe fairly average IPA. Smooth but not particularly unique. Good ipa
