Tap at GABF. Pours a hazy yellow with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is lemon zest, dough, wheat, brett. Thin body, tart lemon, dough, brett, crisp finish, very nice.

[2/3/16] Draught at Jupiter in Berkeley. Pale yellow. Aroma of pickled vegetables, a bit lemony. Tart flavor, lemony, lactic, pickled vegetables. Quite light-bodied. Not the best Berliner.

Draft at the brewpub. Translucent yellow straw coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Aroma is decent crisp lemon, wheat, grainstore, grain husks. Flavour is composed of tar lemon rind, pucking acid, doughy grains with a hint of funky apple. Palate is grainy, acidic, tangy, highish carbonation. Good Berliner, little hint of funk.

The beer is a pale straw yellow with a small, white, fizzy head. The bubbles dissipate to nothing quickly. The liquid is fairly cloudy. Nice lemony, lacto-tart aroma. Mild vinous note with a bit of oak. Yogurt and tart citrus. Maybe more sour tangerine than lemon. Medium funk. Everything blends well. Taste has moderate to medium tartness. A bit more of the pinot noir barrel comes through. Creamy feel with hints of sweeter fruitiness. Cherries, apricots, peaches and tangerines cut with lime acidity. Some wheaty sweetness and body. This bottle mistakenly sat around in my cellar for maybe six-ish months, and based on other reviews, I think that was a good thing. Rather solid Berliner.

Draft. Golden beer with a low off-white head. Light tart aroma. Tart and light grain flavor with light sourness. Medium-light bodied. Tartness/light sourness lingers with light grain.

Bomber from Bottle Barn in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours translucent lemony gold with a few temporary bubbles. Aroma is clean with just the slightest of brett notes. Med minus body. Flavor is quite tart and earth/brett with lots of citrus (or something like it) followed by mild sweat sox. Finishes tart, citrus, earth/brett. Other than tart the flavors are relatively mild, but it’s a very pleasant drink. Bet it would be a hit on the Ku’damm. Course they’d probably put a bunch of sugary stuff in it, but ...

GABF 2013. Pours a light hazy yellow appearance with little head. Fucken huge stomach bile, lemon, garbage aroma. Flavor is only stomach bile. Obnoxious, sour, and acidic. Really bad. Didn’t know if I was the only one that hated this beer, but evidently womencantsail got a similar impression at GABF.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours thick hazy almost white yellow with a ring white head. Aroma is cheesy with notes of yogurt and citrus. Flavour is heavy acidic and funky. Light medium bodied with light carbonation. Bad example of the style.
