Handbottle thanks to Jcwattsrugger. Pours cloudy black. Off white head. Nose/taste of resinous tree sap, cocoa, hops and roasted black malt. Medium body. Tasty.

Oh yes, this stuff is on style to say the least so ignore my numbers and if you like IPA, better try this out. Floral hoppy aroma. Dark, but not really as dark as a few other black IPA I’ve had. Big strong slightly fruity double IPA attitude roto-tilling across my tongue, back to the back of my throat and then down the hatch; all while the throttle is set on high. Rude mannerless taste, terrible bitterness for a lager lover. Long terrible linger, cannot detect any CO2 due to the taste bud impact. Wew, glad I saved this for last. I could still taste in in my mouth even a half hour after the tasting. Nasty rude on style impact!

Firkin version at Barley’s 7th Annual Mini RAF (05/02/09): This brew pours a murky brownish amber color with a medium thin and bubbly head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Hoppy and roasty aroma with notes of malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, roasted malt and rye bread. The finish is Amarillo-leaning hops with a roasty aftertaste. Difficult to classify this beer at the festival, but whatever you call it I liked it.
