Christmas beer and therefore rather sweet. Yet, the brewers added lots of spices and fruits to make this beer something special.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Kulminator. Very dark brown, almost blackish, slight ruby hue, creamy & very solid slightly tanned head. Getting some slight, nice oxidation in the nose, strong spices, sweet liquorish, slightly earthy, very thick juicy prunes, caramel, sticky malts,… Taste is candy, sticky malts, liquorish, thick spices, prune jam, raisins, caramel, slightly vinous earthly, caramel, slight bitter herbs in the back, candy sugar, touch bread, warming,… Slightly sticky full body. Very enjoyable, distinct enough, nice brew, it does seem whilst admirable no Abbaye des Rocs beer seems to rise quite to the impressive heights of their Brune.

Nice find at Thirsty and Miserable after some tacos in Kensington Market. Lots of candy cane sweetness in aroma and follow through. Has candied malt and booze in aroma. Pours red with creamy head but little lacing. Bottle.

Amber colour, cloudy. Medium carbonation. Complex nose of orange, cinnamon, apricots. Easy to drink despite of the high alcoholpercentage. Balanced and nice beer.

Gusher! It pours murky deep mahoganny with a massive beige head. The nose is berry, jam, wood, earth, Christmas spice, musty and light mouldy note. The taste is very fruity, tangy berry, raspberry yoghurt, spice, alcohol warmth, earth, musty, mouldy wood and light tartness. Full body and lively carbonation. Good depth of flavour. A tasty Christmas brew.
