bottle - This one came in a big 27 oz bottle with a twist cap. It reminded me of a cheap 40 and I found myself hoping it tasted a lot better than that. It pours black with a thick tan head and has the expected dark roast malt aroma of a stout. The stout flavor, while not complex, actually holds up quite well. Some coffee notes join the fairly well balanced roast malts. Medium bodied and a straightforward stout, it’s at least quite quaffable.

Bottled. Black, brownish head. Chocolatey aroma. Sweet and creamy, yet with metallic mouthfeel and notes of blood. There some pleasant estery chocolate sauce in their as well, but the finish has more of the metal. A beer with some good qualities, but also some obviuos shortcomings.

Bottle. Vanilla, molasses and hops aroma. Black color with small head. Molasses, dark chocolate and smoky malt flavors. Lighter body.

Deep brown body, thin tan head. Strong chocolatey, roasty aroma with hints of coffee, soy, and light metallic notes. The flavor hits with bitter roasted malts, licorice, and baker’s chocolate. Definitely on the dry side, but rich nonetheless. The soy component works well with the other flavors, thankfully. Medium-bodied, full-flavored, with a nice, oily finish. Not the greatest of stouts, but I recommend it.

Bottle pours a pitch black with a thick mocha colored head. Spotty coarse lacing. Aroma was coffee, molassas and quite sweet. Tastes mostly of dark roast and coffee. Feel was nice abd smooth especially as it warms up a bit. A slightly burnt bitter aftertaste. Simple and starightforward. Not particularly special, but tasty.

Near black colour. Chewy, slight roasty, slight raisiny malts with a hint of alcoholic undertones in the aroma. Tar-like, toffeeish, thick body. Chewy but bland, and probably too sweet.
