Bottle 300ml.Clear medium brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, plums, prune, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091113]

30 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is spiced, roasted malt and phenolic. Roasted breadish, light metallic, yeasty and dark caramelish. Phenolic dry flavoured finish. Lingering malty note.

bottle, served at cafe mare in heraktlion, eur 6.5 expensive, but served with free botle of water and chips. clear red, smootlh offwhite head. dark fruits, slightly sour aroma, mild, yet potent. nice. flavor is dark fruits, fruits, faint caramel, figs, red berries, faint orange or lime, ends sweet balanced, dry, dark fruits. a real nice dubbel.

bottle, bought in Italy 2007. Clear dark brown colour. Flavours of roasetd malt, malt, caramel and chocolate. A good one.

Red-brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma has caramel malts and some dark fruits. Flavour is very plain, of caramel malts and brown sugar. Have to agree with HermanW, not much taste on this one.

On tap. Reddish brown colour, nice beige head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits. Flavour is sweet, brown sugar, dark fruits. A bit thin, but an OK dubbel.

Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo! Clear dark ruby color. Malty, caramelly, berry-like aroma. Toffeish flavor with prunes, some berries and candy sugar. Sweetish aftertaste. Plain abbey dubbel.

Bottled. Rubyish amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma si caramel malts, raisins and mild spices. Flavour is spices, raisins, mild alcohol and some wood. Aftertaste is mainly raisins, wood and spices.

Aroma is quite unpleasant. It’s musty with a medicinal alcohol scent. Flavour is a little sour on the tongue which is both unexpected and unwanted from a double like this. I miss the warmth of malt. Too much sour fruitiness.

Bottle: Poured a reddish brown amber with fast dissapating off white head. The aroma was of sweet fruit and caramel. The taste was sweet fruit and spicy malt.
