Bouteille:Hazy to cloudy, ruby-amber coloured, loose ’n lacy off-white head, some floaties visible; sweet caramelly nose, traces of cacao and dried fruits over a light acidity; moderate sweet-bitter flavour with a delicate sourish touch, relatively light bodied for a beer of 6.5% and a bit tart; lingering caramelly and sweet-fruity finish, some yeasty tartness in the aftertaste. Not the best brew from the Spanish Netherlands…

Bottle with expiry date September 2017. Dark brown colour, minimal head with decent lacing. Aroma is caramel, a bit of herbal hops, not very fruity. Light bitterness, not sweet. Medium body, average carbonation. An interesting example of a Belgian beer that is more hoppy than fruity. Good.

Tasting at Maakuns. Thanks to Maakun. Gebrande noten en andere herfstachtige tonen in een cremig geheel, erg lekker. Lust ik nog wel een keer! Backlog from 2015/02/03.

Chapa dorada.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a Tulip. Hazy, amber colour with a reddish tinge. Thin, off- white head. Fruity aroma with yeasts, caramel malts, toasted notes and herbal, berry-like tones. Taste is lighty bitter. Medium body with a slick texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity with berries, yeasts and a herbal bitterness. Nice Belgian.

Bottle. Roasted grains, toast, black currant, nuts, light ash, fresh brown bread. Medium sweet with light roasted bitter finish. Light dried leaves in the finish too. Medium bodied with slight creamy feel. Really like this. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Amber ale by Struise, made at Deca and belonging to their very first league of beers, from even before the famous Pannepot. Off-white, loose, sticky head, pure amber colour, lightly hazy. Nutty and caramelly malts in the nose, softly sourish wheat, oats, ginger, cloves, grapefruit, peach, dried orange peel. Soft fruity onset, a subtle honeyish presence without becoming actually sweet, subtle acidity adding refreshment and spicy and nutty middle and end phase, with mild herbal hop bitterishness in the finish as well as a certain yeastiness. Nice artisanal beer, but quite clearly not yet at the same height as their later masterpieces.

Dark red. Light fluffy head. Mild cherry and bread dough aroma with herbal clove. Sweet up front, mild taste. Not a lot going on. Fig and raisin juiciness definitely a fruity finish. Not bad
