31/5/2018. Cask at The Rockcliffe Arms, Whitley Bay. Pours hazy dark golden with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, hop, fruit, bread and light floral/herbal notes. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Fairly bitter finish. Traditional bitter, not bad.

Cask at the Fox Hole, Piercebridge. Amber colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of grains, citrus rind. Taste is malt caramel, grainy, with tangy citrus and lingering bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite OK.

On cask @ the Teesdale Hotel in Middleton in Teesdale. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - lemons and malt. Slightly grainy. Taste - more lemon barley water. Slight astringent malt finish but within tolerances. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - decent example of the style.
