Pours a deep red-copper color. A special batch of Inis & Gunn beer was brewed and matured in oak for 60 days; 30 days in American oak barrels, and 30 days in navy rum barrels. It was then matured 47 more days for a full marriage of flavors.

NOTE: Rum Aged, Rum Finish & Oak Aged Rum Finish are the same beer as Rum Cask. They are an alias for different export markets with a tweaked process.

Innis & Gunn: "They are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same.

(Bottle 330ml) Pours dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is woody, very sweet toffee and caramel malts. Flavour is mix of sweet and bitter burnt caramel malt. Interesting and very different brew, just not to my taste, but can understand how others like this.

Bottled 330ml. -Shiny amber coloured, medium sized pale beige head, just a whiff of wood in the nose. Moderate sweet malty, light sugary caramel and woody taste with evident notes of rum and vanilla in the finish. Pleasant brew.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with almost no head. Clear aroma of malt and herbs. Sweetish, malty taste with a note of herbs and, well, yes, rum finish. Richly carbonated. A little dryish aftertaste. Interesting.

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Bottle from the BritShop on Ramstein. Pours out a nice dark brown, but clear, small half finger tan head. Rum is readily apparent in the aroma, caramel malts, woody notes. The rum also brings sweetness to the malts, along with what seems like a very boozy vibe. Nice feel overall, and despite the seemingly boozy flavor and warmth, it's not that strong of a beer.

Sampled from a 12 oz clear bottle this beer poured a nut brown color with a large foamy beige head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweetish toffee, nut, faint dark fruits and malted milk. The flavor was sweet toffee, caramel, bread, malted milk, vanilla and toasted coconut. Medium length finish. Medium body and very creamy. Nice.

Clear 12oz bottle. Seriously? Enjoyed at cellar temp in a snifter. Poured a murky hazy brown / amber beer. Very sweet almost barley wine smell. Taste is sweet up front with some alcohol booziness. Sort of a heat from this with lots of oak and vanilla. It’s very unbalanced and sort of basic.

Vertical with Orginal & Triple Matured. This won the test.
Aroma has (surprisingly) rum, some vanilla and hints of toffee. Flavour has lots of rum, some woody notes, vanilla, toffee and hints of licorice. Good.

Bottle, 7.4%. "Carefully matured for 57 days" and so on. Buttery, lagery aroma, butterscotch, caramel. Clear dark chestnut colour. OK tan head, not very stable. The flavour starts off with a distinct vanilla note, turns more malty and sweet with a mild bitterness and some coconut in the finish. Good.

Bottle, 7.4%. Mild vanilla aroma, also quite vinous. Clear dark brown colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour has a lot of vanilla, even a bit like coconut. Finishes drier, also vinous.
