Pours a deep red-copper color. A special batch of Inis & Gunn beer was brewed and matured in oak for 60 days; 30 days in American oak barrels, and 30 days in navy rum barrels. It was then matured 47 more days for a full marriage of flavors.

NOTE: Rum Aged, Rum Finish & Oak Aged Rum Finish are the same beer as Rum Cask. They are an alias for different export markets with a tweaked process.

Innis & Gunn: "They are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same.

Bottle. It’s a clear, light brown to amber beer topped by a dense, off-white to light beige head. Butterscotch, candy, caramel and a roasted touch in the aroma. Pleasant, although a bit high levels of carbonation, full body, rather sweetish, and with caramel and some roasted notes. Caramel and toffee in the end, with some warming notes. Dries up a bit in the end, where there’s also some bitterness. A decent one, but as the other Innis & Gunn beers, there’s lot’s of butterscotch. 120915

Bottle. It pours a clear, chestnut color, with lively carbonation forming a finger-thick beige head that stays. The aroma is quite vinous, with berries, dark dried fruits and some booze. A little oaky vanilla touch and a whiff of spices also shows up. Slightly toffee-ish as it warms. It’s full-bodied, smooth and slightly warming on the palate, finishing with a pleasant bitterness and blue plums and prunes. The initial flavor has quite a lot of dried fruits and prunes, but is very light on oak and spices. Some brown sugar and toffee blends in, but are left in the background. Damn, I’m not normally an Innis & Gunn guy, but this one is both complex and tasteful. Nice! 101002

330 ml. bottle poured in to a trappist glass. Deep ruby colour, with a thin off-white head. Malty aroma with caramel, oak, toffee, rum, sweet dark fruits and spices. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Average finish with toffee and wood. Nice, malt centred beer.

330 ml. bottle from IRMA supermarket. Poured in to a trappist glass. Clear, dark brown colour with lighter hues. Sweet, rich and malty aroma with caramel malts, syrup, oak and a light alcohol note (perhaps rum?). Medium to heavy sweetness, Medium to full body with an oily texture. Soft carbonated with a long lasting, sweet finish with brown sugar and a little bit of hops in the end. Nice beer at a fair price...

11.2 oz. bottle. My buddy grabbed a 4 pack of this from the Beverage King. Rum is one of the few hard types of liquor I drink, so I’m excited for this one! English pint shows dark, nearly transparent brown/ lots of ruby highlights, with thin white head. Different nose of skunky oak, cane sugar and rum for sure. Flavor has lots of vanilla, butterscotch and gentle spice. Lots of malt. Soft Co2. Funny thing is, it tastes like a rum and Coke. Did I mix a Captain and Coke here?? LOL. Medium body and an interesting sipping beer. Makes a good after dinner brew. ABV is non- existent. I & G made me want to try a few more of their oak aged brews with this one.

Clear bottle from nike, thanks bud! Reminds me of a new castle bottle for some reason. Nice brownish pour, just a tad of that pilsner noble hops aroma. First taste is medium kick then.....shocking blue ring dang doo! Yes, each swig is this evolution, fools you into into taking a big swig then its sudden volatile nose hair curling apex and mouth full of high alky brew; well, at least until the anticeptic effect mulls over your taste buds and olfactory. Gradually however, it becomes more acceptable and you can’st stop sipping, like not being able to ignore a fire right across the street. Don’t get too close, might burn the cilia on your forehead. Yez, not as bad as I thought it would be, goes down fairly smooth, more smooth than cheap american ice beer, eh?! Even begins to get milder as I get towards the bottom of the bottle; I wonder why? I’ll tell you this, I like the rum flavor barrels better than the whiskey flavored ones. Towards the end, seems to get just a tad cloying, but in a good way. Hey B, thanks for the chance to try this, otherwise out of my reach, beer. In the summer time when the weather is high, you can jump right up and touch the sky, when the weather’s right, you got innis, you got gunner on your mind. Have a drink, have a drive (golf) and go out and see what you can find.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Thanks troubles. Clear dark amber-brown. Aroma of malt, honey, caramel, coconut, vanilla, some fruitiness, rum and alcohol. Sweet alcoholic flavor, honey-ish and candy-ish, with coconut and some fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Not my thing.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of rhum, caramel, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, rum, and wood, leading to a dry woody finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a bubbly and lazing orangey head. The aroma has notes of caramel, rum, and wood, and is very powerful - but not a favorite of mine. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, rum, alcohol, and wood, leading to a sweet and lightly woody finish. OK, but not as good as I had hoped for.
