Pours a deep red-copper color. A special batch of Inis & Gunn beer was brewed and matured in oak for 60 days; 30 days in American oak barrels, and 30 days in navy rum barrels. It was then matured 47 more days for a full marriage of flavors.

NOTE: Rum Aged, Rum Finish & Oak Aged Rum Finish are the same beer as Rum Cask. They are an alias for different export markets with a tweaked process.

Innis & Gunn: "They are the same beer, the process changed slightly so we changed the name. But the recipe is the same.

Bottle from Morrisons. Pours clear brown with a thick beige head. Aromas of vanilla, toffee, mixed peel. Taste is sweet and thin. Cola notes. It's kids stuff without being full Vault City juice. Kinda like a rum and coke for people that don't like rum, or beer.

330ml bottle at home. Pours clear copper brown with decent white head that hangs around. Rum and vanilla nose, some sweet malt. Taste is a bit overwhelmed by the rum, can’t really make out the beer beneath, just dark sugars. Medium body, sweet finish. OK.

Bottle from Waitrose. Fruity nose, cherries, raisins, caramel, orange. Deep reddish brown with a thick, low head. Spicy rum flavor, rich malt, caramel, treacle, dried fruit, raisin, dates. Quite tasty. Dessert like, but not crazy sweet. Bitter finish of hops and oak. A fun one.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear brown with an orange hue and a smallish, off-white head. Soft, woody, alcohol notes atop some caramel. Medium body, slightly sweet caramel with rather distinct alcohol notes. You could've fooled me if you told me this was whisky, but apparently it's rum. Maybe it has seen some oak or at least some oak chips, but appears alcohol infused as well. No real bitterness but at least nut the buttery note as in many previous Innis 6 Gunn beers. Decent. 140823

25/2/2023. Bottle from Tesco, Martlesham. Shared at SBGP1. Pours clear bright red/brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Good looking beer. Aroma of toffee, biscuit, wood, waxy coconut, hint of sausage but not a lot of rum. Quite sweet with light bitterness. Medium body, oily and sticky, average carbonation. Not a big fan.

330ml bottle - Pours a clear coppery amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. The aroma is sweet, rum, brown sugars, caramel and toffee apple. A sweetish taste, brown sugars, caramelized banana, vanilla and rum flavours with a sweetish finish.

Bottle - pours a tawny brown colour with a small light beige head. The aroma is sweet malt, caramel, vanilla and rum. A sweet caramel taste, some malt, vanilla, rum and spicy wood flavours. Smooth in the mouth, not a lot of bitterness, instead there is some spice and ripe fruit in the finish. Very good.
