A variation of our “classic” ReAle based on hops! Different hop varieties are added during the last 10 minutes of the boil, we add 3 times as much! The result is an explosion of aromas, from citrusy to resins (pine and incense). At the first sip your taste buds will be pleasantly overdriven by its bitterness that lead to a very pleasant and persistent tangerine note.

Big foamer, the beer itself is what I’d call a cloudy orange yellow. When the foam shrinks, there’s plenty of lacing.

The nose has grassy hops, I said no pine elsewhere but I’m getting it now. Some sweet tropical fruitiness, malt is there as well adding some sweetish notes.

Tropical fruit and pine dominate and so, it’ s not an overly bitter brew by any stretch of the imagination. To me, that is comforting. Balanced IPAs can be quite good.

Medium bodied, lightish carbonation, nice mouth feel.

This is very good. A bit expensive for a bottle; fancy assed bottle.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Translucent neon orange-gold pour with dense foamy head. Aroma is apple juice and mild pine hops. Taste is bitter pine hops with some fruitiness - maybe banana even, with clove and yeast (like a sort of Belgian ale hidden underneath). A bit vegetal at the end. Rich palate with smooth fine carbonation - very nice. Bears more resemblance to the My Antonia than the Reale (which is maltier) - not as good as My Antonia and might even be second to the regular Reale, which was a pleasant surprise. Solid nonetheless and would be happy to have again.

Bottle at home. Pours amber, bitter and fruity, light pine, citrus, perhaps a little too fizzy.

From a 330ml bottle on 23/2/2014. Pours a murky dark golden with virtually no head. Has a very pleasant slightly spicy, fruity aroma. In the mouth, you get rye bread, citrus and stone fruit, caramel, nuts and spices. The bitterness is firm but not over the top. Has a medium body and quite lively carbonation. It’s by no means a typical IPA, but it’s a really lovely drop.

Flaske 0,33l. Grønn etikett. BrewDog Bar Manchester 25 Jan 13. Lys appelsinfarget. Høyt luftig skum. Aroma av aprikos. Så er det bare tørket frukt. Avslutter ekstra tørt.
