A variation of our “classic” ReAle based on hops! Different hop varieties are added during the last 10 minutes of the boil, we add 3 times as much! The result is an explosion of aromas, from citrusy to resins (pine and incense). At the first sip your taste buds will be pleasantly overdriven by its bitterness that lead to a very pleasant and persistent tangerine note.

Thanks to Marin & Hrvoje for sharing this one at O’Hara! Poured a murky golden body with a thick white head. Really citric aroma, marmalade, slightly fishy, sweet, tangy, pungent. Tangerines. Birra del Borgo seems to be consistently very, very good in that aroma. Somewhat thinner, dry, just a tad tangy hoppy taste, lemon candy, light malty sweetness. Some tropical fruit. While not a stunner, this is a damn good IPA. Definitely not an APA, though the lack of immediate flashiness can make me understand why one would change that appellation (though I don’t agree). Good job!

Location: Draft at Osteria da Nino's, 9/23/14

Aroma: The nose is decent with some sweet malty notes and some hoppy notes as well
Appearance: It pours a hazed orange-amber color with a small froth of off-white head
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, fairly balanced, a little sweet, and a little bit bitter
Palate: The body is medium, it has a decent mouthfeel, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was just a solid beer. It wasn't bad, but nothing I'd rush out for again anytime soon either. I'd obviously drink it happily if it was on a small menu with limited choices.
