Duchessa, our spelt beer, is a typical product from our territory. Inspired by traditional Belgian Saisons, it persuadues you with its pleasentness and fresh elegance. The creamy and abundant head releases fruity (banana, pineapple, tropical fruit) and floral aromas which are animated by a slight pepperiness. Its fine carbonation, slight acidity and moderate hop profile make for a fresh beer that is never overpowering and is pleasant from start to finish.

Sep. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle at La Regina del Formaggio, Split. It poured a hazy golden body with a small head. Nice lemony, orange and peppery aroma with some honey and sweet fruits, rather typical for a good example of the style. Flavor was lightly sweet, honey malty spiced with lemon hops with lot of Belgian yeast fruitiness. Considering the style this is even full bodied, like an ordinary Belgian ale, with longer, sweetish fruity and honey finish. Light lemon hops at the very end emerge again, adding to its charm. Another nice one from this brewery!
Why RB people in average prefer bland saisons instead of tastier ones, not about this example only but generally speaking, remains a mystery to me, smelling of trendy crap.

At BBF, a touch hazy and intense yellow color, aroma of yeast, honey and roots, fruity flavor with yeasty and rubber notes, medium noticable sweetness. Pleasant But too malty.

Thank you for sharing BE & friends RB Crew! Sampled draft @ Borefts 2016. Day 2. Hazy orange golden. Nose is dull oily, grainy, thick yeast, boring, sugar, Belgian in a bland way. Taste is pretty dull with heavy yeast, sugar, some unpleasant plaster, Belgian in a poor way. Overly sweet especially for the style, lightly oily. Taste like a poor Belgian which is also what quite a few saisons are these days.
