Duchessa, our spelt beer, is a typical product from our territory. Inspired by traditional Belgian Saisons, it persuadues you with its pleasentness and fresh elegance. The creamy and abundant head releases fruity (banana, pineapple, tropical fruit) and floral aromas which are animated by a slight pepperiness. Its fine carbonation, slight acidity and moderate hop profile make for a fresh beer that is never overpowering and is pleasant from start to finish.

Draught. Orange colour, hazy, thick, long lasting head. Aroma is intensive apricot and malt, toast. Medium bitterness. Good until the last sip. Nice one!

Another new beer at Liquor Shed.
A big foamer, once it settles down, I see a slightly hazy golden brew.
The smell has all sorts of things going on. Tropical fruit, banana, almost a barnyard aroma. Can I say sweet and sour?
It tastes like it smells. Tropical fruit both sweet and sour, earthy, and now peppery. So different but I like.
Medium body and carbonation.
As Sargeant Schultz would say, very interesting.

Bottle from Eataly, Florence. Murky amber body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, white bread and chalky malt. Flavour of flat lemonade, salt and herbs. It tastes a bit dull for the style. Medium body with an oily texture. Sharp fizz. I’m not overly impressed with this.

Pours light yellowish-golden. Aroma has some barley, but not toomuch. Very saison-like, nice. Taste has barley as well, some bitterness attacking my tongue. A beer for farmers - but a more refined version. Good beer to drink, I am not complaining.

Hazy light amber, nice rich bubbly head. Has a fresh yeast, lightly spicy aroma. Lots if big fresh malt, delicate spice and lots of yeasty character, like feet.

From a 750ml bottle on 16/3/2014 (shared with Butz). Pours a cloudy light golden with a big white foamy head. The aroma features some bready malt and a touch of fruit. The flavour features more bready malt, some light citrus, tropical and stone fruit, and some mild spice. The palate is quite creamy and the carbonation is reasonably lively. I’ve enjoyed other beers from this brewer more, but this is still pretty good stuff.

Draught in Open Baladin, Rome on 10th Dec 2013. Almost clear pour, golden hue to it, on top a smooth white covering. This was a little maltier and richer in texture than most Saison beers I’ve had, not that it’s a big total of beers. This had those ’farmyard’ esters and earthy features that summarize this style so well, so it wasn’t a long way off the Belgian ones that I’ve had. Different and after a Gose style beer in the same bar I was beginning to warm towards the Italian craft beer scene. This is a very pleasant brew and I’m really pleased I had a large glass full of it.

(Bottle) Hazy yellow mber wit decent white head. Nice refreshing citrusy aroma. Pleasant palate, refreshing carbonation but with some body to it. Nice taste, fruity and tangy with pleasant light malt and little bitterness. Easy drinking, and elegant.
