Deze zware stout is gebrouwen met wat rookmout en veel donkere geroosterde moutsoorten. Hierdoor krijgt het bier veel drogende gebrande bitterheid. Deze bitterheid doet denken aan salmiak, jodium en teer. De Amerikaanse hopsoorten geven het bier een sterk aroma van overrijpe mango en versterkt de teerachtige aroma's. Volgens enkele proevers doet het denken aan een Islay malt whisky qua aroma.

Aroma of roasted malts, liquorice, tobacco, mild smoke, chocolate, hint of dark fruits. Flavour is medium sweet with a potent roasty bitter finish. Sticky and oily. Strong and tasty.

Tap @ Jopenkerk. Deep dark brown color. Apple syrup and licorice in both aroma and flavor. Sweet, roasty, dominant licorice, only slightly tarry.

[ As Jopen Holy Smoke ].Clear light dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, sweet malt, wood, smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, chocolate, roasted, smoke - wood. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150527]

Das Bier ist schwarz und hat eine mittelgroße bräunliche Schaumkrone. Geruch nach viel Schokolade, Vanille, dezent rauchig. Geschmack leicht rauchig schokoladig, Kaffee, Vanille, gering alkoholisch.

Tap@Taphouse, Copenhagen (30/05/2015) - black pour with tan head. Dark roasted malty aroma and taste with prominent coffee, chocolate, caramel, some burnt malty notes, whisky in there as well, roasted finish.

Bottle shared. Black with small beige head. Lots of smoked meats, coffee, very earthy and mineral, smoke, ash, some citrusy hops. Light sweet with roasted bitterness. Over medium bodied with nice creamy carbonation.
